Official Dropped Syndicate By-Laws

Article I: General Club Information

Section 1: Official Name

a. The name of this organization shall be Dropped Syndicate.

b. This organization shall remain a nonprofit member club.

Section 2: Club Logo

a. The official logo shall be Dropped Syndicate encompassed in a circle with a target through the middle containing the text "make it right, lower the height" and is displayed at the top of these By-Laws.

b. Logos may be any color but should remain within the guidelines of the original until such time the logo is changed by a vote of members.

c. Each member is encouraged to display the Dropped Syndicate logo on his or her vehicle.

Section 3: Objectives

a. To promote interest in various types of automobiles and automobile customization.

b. To create good fellowship and sportsmanship among club members.

c. To promote greater automotive safety in and around the community, and to provide interested individuals with an organized and supervised environment in which they may pursue their automotive hobbies and interests.

d. To conduct club operations and activities in such a manner as to bring about a clearer understanding on the part of the public, the press and law enforcement agencies of organized car club activities.

Article II: Membership Rules and Information

Section 1: Membership

a. Membership to Dropped Syndicate is by invitation only.

b. Once invited, potential members must attend three consecutive meetings in order to be considered for membership.

c. Potential members must also follow the modification requirements listed in Article V, Section 1.

d. All standing members will vote in any new potential members after above pre-requisites have been met.

Section 2: Membership Dues

a. Membership dues shall be paid quarterly at $25.00 each quarter or otherwise previously determined by chapter President.

b. New members entering the club after the quarterly dues have been paid will have dues for that quarter prorated.

c. There will be an accepted grace period of 10 days in which to submit the membership dues. The rest of the club must approve further arrangements.

d. Initial membership dues will be used to purchase one logo decal for your vehicle (additional decals must be paid for by member), one club t-shirt, and a set of business cards with club information and logo.

e. Additional membership dues will be used to fund the DS website and events and meetings for the club as well as items such as banners, shirt designs, cards, award plaques and trophies, canopies, etc.

f. Financial standings can be provided to members upon request from the elected Treasurer.

g. Members that fall more two months behind in dues will be placed on probation. More than three months and the member will be placed on leave of absence from the club until dues are paid. If more than 30 days after the leave of absence and dues are still yet unpaid, member will be removed from the club and must re-apply for membership.

Section 3: Rules and Disciplinary Action

a. Once voted in, members are considered to be members 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Public displays of stupidity will not be accepted.

b. Threatening or abusive language towards another club member or the public is not allowed. Any disputes between club members are to be handled in private.

c. Intentional damage to any member or non-member's property will not be tolerated. This includes any malicious acts of violence or criminal misbehavior.

d. Any use of illegal drugs or illegal activities is prohibited at any club function. This includes but is not limited to the excessive use of alcohol and attempting to operate a motor vehicle. Your personal time is all your own.

e. The chapter President or vice President have the right as he/she deems necessary to place any member on a probationary period for violation of any rules or by-laws as noted below in Article II, Section 3f.

f. If found in violation of club by-laws, a member would be placed on a one-month probationary period. If a member is placed on probation more than three times per year, that member will be dismissed from the club.

Article III: Officers and Appointed Volunteers

Section 1: Officers

a. The club will have a President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer.

b. Club members nominate and elect officers via closed ballot. Majority wins.

c. Each elected officer will serve a one-year term in elected position and may chose to run the following year if desired.

d. In the case of an officer stepping down from his/her position, a special meeting will be called to vote in a replacement as soon as possible as to not disrupt future club organization. Voting will be done as stated in Article III, Section 1b.

Section 2: Duties of Officers

a. President - The principal executive officer of the club. The President is responsible for supervising and controlling all of the business and social affairs of the club through his/her own action or the delegation of authority as necessary. He/She will preside at all meetings of the officers and/or members and perform all duties incident to his office as President.

b. Vice President - In the absence of, or at the request of the President as outlined in Article III, Section 2a immediately above, the Vice President shall have the same duties as the President.

c. Secretary - The secretary keeps minutes of meetings, handles club correspondence as necessary and as directed by the President. The Secretary also maintains the master membership roster for the Chapter (including complete addresses and telephone numbers) and coordinates with the Webmaster to keep this information current. Performs all duties incident to the office of Secretary.

d. Treasurer - The treasurer receives, safeguards, and dispenses all chapter funds including dues, fundraiser monies, donations, sponsorship funds, etc. Maintains chapter bank accounts as well as receives and pays any Club or Chapter acquired bills and accounts. Maintains up-to-the-minute records and reports thereon at each meeting and/or as requested by any of the club officers.

Article IV: Dropped Syndicate Club Functions

Section 1: Meetings

a. Club meetings are to be held bi-weekly.

b. Whether meetings are held at a home or a public place, members are to respect the host/hostess holding the meeting.

c. Members are required to attend all club meetings unless other arrangements have been made at least three days prior to the scheduled meeting.

1a. Members that cannot get off work for the meeting are excused.

1b. Members that have an emergency to deal with at the time will also be excused.

1c. Members that are out of town during the meeting will be excused.

2a. Members getting drunk the night before and missing a meeting is NOT excusable.

2b. Children are always welcome. No babysitter is not and excuse.

2c. If you are local in the area and not working, you have no excuse for missing a meeting and will not be excused.

d. Members missing more than two consecutive meetings will be placed on probation. Missing more than three consecutive meetings will result in re-petitioning to be reinstated as a logo-bearing member.

e. All club decisions will be brought to a vote at each meeting so attendance is required.

f. Any fund raising events, get-togethers, and shows will be counted as a meeting.

Section 2: Fundraisers

a. There will be two scheduled fund raising events each year to benefit the club. The events will be voted and scheduled at regular meetings.

b. It is required for all members to be involved with fund raising activities such as car washes and etc. to show group participation and raise monies for the club.

c. All members are required to at least help and/or participate in any and all fund raising events.

Section 3: Club Participation

a. All members are strongly encouraged to participate in scheduled events such as meetings, fund raisers, car shows, get-togethers, etc.

b. Members are required to attend at least two car shows per year and must show in at least one of them.

c. Members not showing are required to help other members who are showing as best they can. Group participation at shows is required even if it is just a burger run.

d. Twice a year will be a scheduled event to meet with all chapters of Dropped Syndicate. At least one of those meetings is mandatory to attend.

Article V: Description of Vehicle Requirements

Section 1: Vehicle Modifications

a. All vehicles in the club are to have 1 major modification and 3 minor modifications. Exceptions are listed below in Article V, Section 1c and 1d.

b. Any modification not listed in Article V, Section 2 or Section 3 shall be brought before the club to decide which class of modification it is.

c. Vehicles under warranty are required to have at least 4 minor modifications while under warranty. After warranty has expired, member has 3 months to perform one major modification.

d. Classic vehicles (25 years or older) may be entered without meeting before mentioned modifications provided they are registered with the state as a classic vehicle (antique tags).

Section 2: Major Modifications: Members must have 1 major modification

a. Lowered or raised vehicles

b. Any part shaved and repainted, excluding stick on emblems (includes door handles, tail lights, etc.)

c. High performance engine swap or upgrade

d. Air bags, cylinders, hydraulics, or body drop

e. Clip swap, walk through, breeze through, aftermarket convertible top or sunroof

f. Tandem axle, dual exhaust, altered opening hood, altered opening trunk, tilting bed, chop top, body extensions/shortening

g. Full body kits, relocated gas tank, body molding/smoothed out

h. Step or "c" notch, stereos with 4 or more 10" subs

i. Slide back ragtop, recessed license plate box, full tweed interior, tubbed fender wells, aftermarket fenders, and angel eyes

j. 16" or larger aftermarket rims

Section 3: Minor Modifications: Members must have 3 minor modifications

a. Alter paint, wire loom, tinted windows, aftermarket stereo, and aftermarket alarm

b. Altered headlights, altered tail lights, strobe lights, clear turns, neon or LED lights, driving/fog lights

c. Billet parts, altered seats, center consoles, aftermarket gauges, painted interior

d. Bolt on engine options, power antenna, euro antenna, 15" or smaller aftermarket rims, spoilers, mirrors, air damns, hood scoops

e. Roll pan, bed cover, snug top, bed liner, altered horn, aftermarket steering wheel, electric fan

f. Altered bumpers, multi battery system, cut/removed fender wells, added louvers or vents, bug shield

g. Light covers, partial tweed interior NOTE: These By-Laws may be subject to change without notice at anytime.
